1.3 Beta 1
Ideally thrusters are to be avoided as much as possible because they burn remass. Gyros are the way to turn for anything that wants endurance.
Anything designed for sustained combat should prefer gyros. They have to be heavy to get good turning rates, but it's worth the fuel savings if you're going to do a lot of maneuvering.

I think it has been said before, but I just wanted to mention: I really don't like the 'perspective' on the system map. I've tried to get used to it, but it just doesn't feel right. So, if I could, I would vote for bringing back the old 'non-perspective' system map.

The map view is one of those things I can't really bring myself to have any significant opinion about - it does what it needs to well enough in both perspective and top-down.
Either works for me.
The map grid however would look much less out of place if it faded out past the edge of the system rather than abruptly stopping.
I'd really like to see more of the damage displays from CoreEffects applied, they look fantastic but it's so rare I ever see them (barring the demo display) and I have this perverse desire to run my broken ship away from near death trailing smoke and ejecta all the way, and to watch atmosphere spill out of damaged stations.

Ah ok, that explains the 'why' part. Dense asteroid belts mark their own orbit clear enough. The sparse ones are quite hard to spot sometimes:Atarlost wrote:I think George thinks complete belts don't need an ellipse, and it would look rotten on a dense belt. I think sparse belts need them even if they're 360 degree belts, though.
I wouldn't mind an orbit indicator here.
