So, I just finished my first complete playthrough of 1.03, and something that's been bugging me since waaaay back when has occurred to me again.
The lack of stargate animation and sound effect on the final gate is a huge letdown. Instead of that 'Nyeeeeer-POP' and flash of purple light, I get...silence. It feels unsatisfying. That sound effect and animation show up so many other times during the game that when I hear it, I expect thing to Start Happening. You hear it when you reach a new system, when something big and nasty comes through a gate...I'd really like to see this added to that final gate in Heretic.
This always bugs me when I win the game...

True, I've noticed this as well, but never thought to bring it up.

I think we've all noticed it (at least those who have completed the game).
I also agree. You kinda get attached to the gating sound.

My first mod, mostly done, still balance testing.
