Is the MOTM schedule being moved to 2 months per cycle?

I vote for alterecco's Asteroid Scanner.
So let me get this straight...this is for November Mod of the Month?
If so, any chance Hell's Trinity will catch the December run (I predict it should be completed by early-mid Decemeber)

I didn't "get" Dock'n'Go....I just press "G" over a stargate anyway. What was the point of making people dock at the stargate..?alterecco wrote:I vote for Dock'n'Go... beauty in simplicity
Sorry if I've missed the point SiaFu...

The point is in the approach. When you approach the gate, you hit 'D', which then tractors you in (to the dock hatch, neatly placed in the center of the gate), shows you a screen you can exit by hitting 'G' and then you just 'G' to gate.ThePrivateer wrote: I didn't "get" Dock'n'Go....I just press "G" over a stargate anyway. Basically the big deal about it is the auto tractoring to the center of the gate. Ideally the screen would call (scrExit gScreen) in the OnInit leading it to not show a screen at all (but that would take away the flavour text)
Alterecco is right: easing the maneuvering of ships towards the center of the gate is the main feature of the mod.alterecco wrote: Basically the big deal about it is the auto tractoring to the center of the gate.
I'd just like to correct any possible misconceptions about my role in the autotractoring: it was already in the game and is always activated when you issue a docking command, be it towards a stargate or a wreck or whatever.
I've just changed the already existing [stargate/Majellen gate/unkown gate] dock ports from four at the rim to one at the center (as was stated in the mod description) and changed the undock key shortcut to 'G' so you don't need to scrabble over the keyboard to 'U'.
The point was to make it easier for ships with low maneuverability and high mass (=inertia at high speeds) to get to the center of the gate. Try manually centering a speeding overloaded freighter with no thruster upgrades and you'll see why. With this mod (and PKodon's NoDockNavBeacons) you can rush towards the gate at full blast, hit 'D' and the auto-docking will slow you down and drag you right where you need to be to gate immediately after you undock.

Gee guys, this has been a really slow voting month...but it was a close one between asteroid scanner and dock'n'go.
I'll throw out a premature "Congratulations" to SiaFu, whose more in depth explanation above did make be understand the mod more (but I'm sticking to my vote for Asteroid Scanner).
Happy MOTM SiaFu....unless of course there are suddenly fifty-odd forum goers who will be voting within the next twelve hours....but I think the odds are in your favour.

That's the rating on Xelerus, not the voting results.ThePrivateer wrote:Gee guys, this has been a really slow voting month...but it was a close one between asteroid scanner and dock'n'go.

Hey, didn't I have something to contribute to this? A gravity thingamajig or something?
I wonder what happened to it.

[schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad
