Did he ever recover? Like, after you started moving? Or did he just keep looping around the same place?
The looping is more desirable than current normal wingman behavior.
Currently wingmen tend to hang out a s fixed global vector from you rather than a relative vector like they used to. If you want to shoot something behind the wingman you can't get him to move.

I guess he does recover after a while or after going through a gate. I also saw some odd leaping around if I gate into a system near enemies. He seems to go after them then leap back next to me. I'm assuming there is some code that moves the wingman into position after you gate into a system? If so, maybe put a time limit on that code like 1/2 second or something?
