I can safely say that I've died around 20ish times, and the max lifetime for a playthrough is 29 minutes. I'm having a hard time playing a permadeath, so I need the help of the veteran players out there
If you can complete a permadeath with these mods, congrats, and I'd like to know: how'd you survive?
(and for a super challenge, I suggest playing with FAD's mod)
Note: NewSounds is not compatible with WE4
Yes I know I have lots of mods, but they also provide a greater universe to explore than Vanilla

Here's the ending of another tried perma: The light carrier+homing laser setup seems to be working well. Since I have fighters that do most of the fighting for me (and thus I don't have to risk myself >.> ), and loooots of cargospace (400?!) I just might survive next perma:D

i had to Nerf because of this same Fate ( I did not want a player to get killed that way ) : it seems we often forget how weak a regular ship can actual be because we often fly Mod ships.

I was just trying it: being as I am behind a commerce related adventure....commerce was my key to survival
I shut down all systems and conserved power, the starting credits allowed me to buy and sell : but I confess, I had to jump the gate to get wrecks and then jump back to known stations where I could sell until i could get a working weapon : the shield was not important, if the Centauri can run around without them so can we
with a weapon and a stand-off style i did pretty good: i got 4 systems covered with a class I deflector and an autoSentinel to cover my back as i gained credits for proper armor . at last save i was up to 5K credits, destroyed 6 stations and about a dozen ships from Centauri and charon pirates
so the worst case scenario is not as bad as it looks....it needs to find a harder item: like no credits. and that ROM in hold was the first thing i dropped : i don't allow illegals on my ship unless i have the smuggler's hold.

FAD, your carrier is awesome! This is the longest I survived on this playthrough
Just one question though, why doesn't the carrier automatically start with the drone bay? It was really the only pull I had toward the ship- it has fighters to compensate for the 20 facings and slow turn rate.
