Almost entirely bugfixes. I don't envision adding any more features before 1.0. There is one crash bug out there that I may hold up the release for, but other than that, I think this is good to go.

As always, let me know what you think.

Change list is here:

Awesome. Too bad I haven't finished playing rc5 through yet. Oh well. ;]

Kinda dislike the new text though... Its all rounded, and ugly imo.

I look forward to trying it out! Has the issue w/ the Wolfen been ironed out that you guys told me about?

Yes, the dual laser cannon now takes only 3 MW again. So, you shoulnd't have any problems...

So is the Wolfen a better beginner ship? Thanks

Actually, what the best beginner ship depends on your playstyle. I suggested the sapphire because it is the best of both worlds - i.e. it can't maneuver as fast as a Wolfen but is much better than the freighter. It can't carry as much cargo or as many devices as a freighter but much more than a Wolfen.
The idea is that once you know how you want to play, you can either move to a specialized ship or you can stick to the sapphire if you like it best.

Wolfen:
Can possibly be hard to control for a newbie and the lack on cargo space means you need to pick your loot carefully. It's an extremely good ship once you get the hang of it and many people seem to like it best. It's good for a beginner who usually just runs through the game without trying to do everything. The learning curve might be a little steep though.

Freighter:
Slow, and the gameplay is correspondingly slow too. Emphasis is on farming each system for money and trade routes so that you can get the best equipment possible. Can't kill as fast as a Wolfen in the hands of a good player but is certainly good for a very defensive player. It's best for a beginner who generally tries to be as thorough as possible in this sort of game.

If you don't know how you'd like to play, then just pick the sapphire. If you find yourself wishing for more cargo space, switch to the freighter. If you want a faster ship, switch to the Wolfen.

Sometimes I find myself wishing the sapphire was just a tiny bit faster, since .02 doesn't feel like that much of a difference over the freighter, but I'm just idly wishing for a Wolfen with better cargo and device capacity probably.

RC6 looks lovely so far.

Go make a wolfen mod with the extra cargo and device space and then kill all.. simple as that :D

Hmm, I don't think the new font looks as crisp and sharp as the old font did. It's larger, but thinner, which may make it more difficult to read, for some people.

Also, being taller, I wonder how many dock screens this will affect, and is this part of the reason the Northwinds Equipment mod's weapons show up in station/ship inventories with part of their description overwriting the nest item's title?

Part of that may be that I'm wordy. Some of the shields have allways overflowed. Anything that reduces the amount of text I can squeeze into a given space is bad though when you're so limited and have the game engine sticking stats of indeterminate length after the description.

But I'm here about something else. George broke onFireWeapon for builtin configurations. http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/trac/ticket/290
